DEAD-WOODING

Professional Deadwooding Services Across the West Coast of Scotland

At West Highland Tree Services, we provide professional deadwooding services throughout the Isle of Skye, Lochalsh, Lochaber and the wider West Coast of Scotland. Deadwooding involves the careful removal of dead, dying or damaged branches from trees, helping to reduce potential hazards while maintaining the tree’s natural shape and character.

Dead branches can become unstable over time and may fall unexpectedly, particularly during the strong winds and challenging weather conditions experienced across the West Highlands. Our experienced, NPTC-qualified arborists carefully assess each tree and selectively remove hazardous deadwood using professional climbing and cutting techniques.

Our deadwooding services can help to:

  • Remove dead, dying and damaged branches

  • Reduce the risk of falling branches

  • Improve tree safety around homes, gardens and public areas

  • Remove hazardous branches over roads, paths and buildings

  • Maintain the natural appearance and structure of the tree

  • Manage trees affected by wind, weather and exposure

  • Improve the overall condition and appearance of mature trees

  • Identify additional defects or areas requiring further attention

We understand the unique challenges of working with trees across the West Coast of Scotland, including exposed locations, steep ground and difficult access. Our specialist equipment and local knowledge allow us to carry out deadwooding safely and efficiently, even in challenging Highland locations.

Every tree is assessed individually, and our aim is to remove only the deadwood that requires attention while retaining the tree’s natural form and providing suitable habitat for wildlife where appropriate. All work is undertaken by fully insured, NPTC-qualified arborists in accordance with recognised industry standards.

We provide professional deadwooding services across Skye, Lochalsh, Lochaber and the wider West Highlands, including areas around Portree, Broadford, Kyle of Lochalsh, Plockton, Fort William, Torridon, Gairloch and surrounding communities.

Need deadwood removed from a tree? Send us a few clear photographs of the tree, your location and a brief description of the work required. We can often provide a quick, no-obligation quotation from photographs.
